Wolfen–Book release
Book release and artist talk with Regina Bittner, Kathleen Rahn and Tobias Zielony
Opening › Mar 4, 3:00 PM
Mar 4, 2023
Tobias Zielony's new work and the publication Wolfen combine different levels: Photographs taken by Tobias Zielony in Wolfen-Bitterfeld and a text that oscillates between essay and science fiction, based on conversations Tobais Zielony had with several employees of the factory, in order to grasp an untold story: a story of darkness and cold - the story of the disappearing work in the film factory, which was mostly done by women.
The publication was produced by the Museum Marta Herford on occasion of Tobias Zielony's solo exhibition "Dark Data" (on view until April 16) and published with Spector Books. It includes an essay by co-curator Daniel Muzyczuk. The book release coincides with the last day of "Watching TV in Narva", Tobias Zielony's solo exhibition at KOW which the work Wolfen is part of.
Regina Bittner is the head of the Academy and Deputy Director of the Bauhaus Dessau Foundation.
Kathleen Rahn is the artistic director of the Museum Marta Herford.
The work Wolfen was initially produced for the exhibition Mining Photography at Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg und the festival Osten in Bitterfeld in 2022.
